Hi everyone!
I’m so sorry for the lack of posts lately.. but if your area was hosting the Olympics, you may not have much time, either.
I’ve been going to downtown Vancouver the past 3 days. This means, I’ve been enjoying all the amazing Olympic venues, crowds, and sights, but for that reason I have also been eating fast food for the past few days straight.
yesterday looked something like this (I’m warning you- it’sย A LOTย of junk food!):
1/2 c oat bran, stevia, amazing meal, banana, + 2tbsp dark choc pb
My hunny and I went to the Holland Heineken House at around 11am (LOL.. I thought it was a little early to go to a house with beer in the name too) and had this:
One of the best.mayos. EVER. EVER.
The burger was.. eh.. nothing special. But seriously. the mayo they had made everything AMAZING. Even when I was back in Europe I thought that mayo was so so SO much better than the stuff here.
Afterwards, we walked, shopped, walked, shopped, and walked around some more. I also cuddled with an Olympic mascot:

We also ended up going to the coca cola hour to get these awesome light up coke bottles. We had tried before, but the lines were like 3 hours long! For a fricken light up bottle!
We got ’em though! ๐

When I got home I had myself a double pb & j sandwich (i.e – both regular Jiffy pb, AND dark chocolate dreams!). Heck.. I’ve been super unhealthy lately, this sandwich didn’t make much of a difference haha.
White bread ๐ฆ I know I know.
I recently finished eating a piece of tuxedo cake, and a sandwich with salami and mayo (on white bread, again). Ah, it has been a binge-tastic week my blogging friends!
QUESTION: When you eat unhealthy for a while, do you notice any changes with your emotions? I sure do. I’m a lot more sensitive when I eat unhealthy… funny, I know this and yet I seem to do nothing about it.

But the Olympics is only hosted by your city once, so you gotta take part in the festivities!! I can’t imagine how awesome it is to be there right now.
I definitely notice a change in my emotions after binging. If I do it for 2 or 3 days straight, it definitely makes me more sensitive. But if I have one “binge day,” it kind of numbs me? Usually I think that’s because most of my binges are triggered by some type of emotion I don’t want to deal with. So the food numbs me up. Not sayin’ that’s a good thing, though! ๐

Now that I think about it, I’d say that when I eat unhealthy for a while it makes me more sensitive too. Like, every little thing will either bug me or make me upset. I think it’s because deep down inside there’s a disappointment in MYSELF for eating unhealthy.
I really hope that I can overcome that mindset because that’s even more unhealthy than the food! We all go through times where we’re not eating 100% “perfectly.” It’s a part of life. I want to learn to accept it and just move on rather than let it affect other areas of my life/emotions, you know?
When I eat unhealthy I’m in such a BLAH mood! I start to get bloated and just don’t feel right. I feel so much more alive and well when I early right!!

Sounds like you are having an awesome time.. I wish I lived in Vancouver right now!
Don’t feel bad about eating so unhealthily.. to tell you the truth I am kind of jealous ๐ I wish I could be so carefree when it comes to eating out, but it really freaks me out.
I eat mostly healthy stuff, so it’s hard for me to answer your question.. but I do notice a huge change in my emotions when I don’t eat at regular intervals. Skipping meals is a major no-no for me or I turn into a monster ! ๐

mmm lol that is certainly alot of delish lookin foods! If you enjoyed them that is all that matters. If you felt like crud the next day..then you know to maybe slow down a bit ? No need to restrict or anything ๐ We all have these days!
ahhh, double PB&J…. that is awesome.
i ate way too much icing today. and this whole month = too much candy and sugar in general. it has been screwing with my emotions big time! i can get ‘addicted’ to sugar very easily, i need to keep myself in check, or else really negative behaviors in sue.

When I eat unhealthy I get moody, depressed and cranky. Not fun. At least it looks like you’ve had a ton of delicious food? That’s probably the only upside to binges.
I love Pocky sticks!!! I seriously love all those sweets. When the weather gets warmer I want to take my bike to a nearby French bakery and enjoy a chocolate croissant for breakfast ๐ Oo and I’d pick up a bag of fresh cherries or strawberries to go with it too. So yummy.
Hm.. well I would say that usually I get a little groggy and lethargic feeling, but it’s not consciously.

Thanks for the comment- So glad I”m not alone on the running dialogue in my head. If only I could publish what I’m thinking directly! lol. Are you going out for the closing ceremonies? I am freaking SICK. As in fever, headache, sore throat…the whole nine yards. I was looking forward to seeing BURMA JV and Shutter Island, but to be honest I look like I could be an extra in Shutter Island right now (and yes, I am referring to the crazy people). Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Heh, I balance unhealthy eats with other healthy eats, so it equates to a very satisfied and contented girl for me.
it’s hard for me to say if eating unhealthy makes me feel bad because overall i think my diet is pretty healthy ๐ but i do like to eat some bad stuff ones in a while to stay sane and not go to the other extreme of becoming totally obsessed with eating healthy foods

Hi Vera! I stumbled upon your blog and I just HAD to comment because I saw the fabulous STRAWBERRY POCKY!! I dont like strawberry-flavoured-anything EXCEPT strawberry pocky and it can’t even be the regular kind! It MUST be the one with the fruit bits on it! YUM!
As for eating unhealthily, if it tasted good and I enjoyed it then I feel happy and content! Just like for all foods that taste good ๐ But too much sugar makes me slump, which I hate.

i wanna see more steak pics I LOVE STEAK!!!!!!!!!!!! hahaha put em up put em up!!! i am a LOT more sensitive when i eat unhealthy too!!!!!! i dunno if its all in the head or something changes in me?!
I think it’s cause it messes up our hormones and balancing in out body? Plus it sends our inulin/blood sugar up and down!

How I wish I would have been in Vancouver for the games!!! So amazing!!! And hey if you want it, eat it!!! Splurges are a GOOD thing!!!
